Hi, I am Steven Muir and I live in Barrhead, near Paisley, with my wife Kate, between us we have five grown up children and numerous grandchildren!
An Ayrshire lad, growing up in Prestwick, left school to join the Royal Navy followed by some time serving as a police officer in Ayrshire.
I moved to London for three years to pursue a career in sales, later returning to Scotland where I have enjoyed various sales positions with different companies, travelling throughout the UK and finally retiring from sales in 2017.
I have always been drawn to Humanism and it was a friends Humanist wedding that my interest was rekindled.
It made me reflect on what’s important in life – family, friends and healthy respect for everything that life brings you.
On reflection it seems I have always been a humanist, I just hadn’t put a label on it!
Funerals
I have always been struck by the way a humanist ceremony stands out as a celebration of life, filled with both tears and laughter, it gives a real reflection of that person’s life.
As a celebrant with the Caledonian Humanist Association, my dedicated role is to work closely with you, to create a bespoke service that is personal, unique and dignified and one that honours the memory of your loved one.
