ASSISTED DYING

We’re proud to support the campaign in Scotland to change the law to allow people who are terminally ill to be provided with assistance to end their life.

Currently it is illegal in all parts of the UK to assist a dying person to end their life if their suffering is unbearable.

It’s an emotive topic that could potentially affect anyone at any point in their life.

If you support our position on this, one way you can show this is to register your support with the campaigning organisation Dignity in Dying via their website https://www.dignityindying.org.uk/about-us/

In September last year, a members bill was presented to the Scottish Parliament by the MSP Liam McArthur of the Lib Dems. More information on this bill and its progress can be found here:

Please take the time to write to your local MSP to let them know your support. A simple letter or email can make all the difference.

We think the argument for this is simple.

Assisted dying does not mean that more people will die. It means that fewer people will suffer.
